Fuel Management

Our experienced programmers have developed a comparison matrix, which will help you eliminate some of the guesswork associated with pricing methods regarding fuel.  Every driver is familiar with the same old question:  where to fill up and, more importantly, from whom to buy?

In the field of aviation there are a number of other factors to consider:

  1. At which airport will I fill up during a scheduled landing;
  2. From what supplier will I purchase this fuel?  The fastest supplier is not necessarily the most advantageous;
  3. How much fuel should I buy and would it make sense to purchase extra to take to the next airport;
  4. At which price will I benefit from purchasing extra fuel? This calculation must include higher consumption.

Both pilots and dispatchers will have to thoroughly analyze these items ahead of each and every flight.  In the case of regular-scheduled flights the distances to be covered are usually known in advance, and for this reason contracts with fuel suppliers are in place beforehand.

However, general aviation is rarely afforded reliable data when it comes to planning and often fuel is purchased without any prior price negotiations.  At the end of the day the fuel provider wins while the aircraft owner comes up short.  We estimate that even a moderate degree of negotiation would lower fuel costs by up to 8%.
